Yesterday was a very exciting day. We were scheduled to set up between 3:00 pm and 3:30. So myself, my daughter Allie and my son-in-law Mikey left the house in the truck at 2:30. Not 5 minutes out the truck started making a very weird noise. Ouch, the fan belt had gone! Our first thought was "We're not going to make the fair!" Mikey however was undaunted. He stripped away the now shredded fan belt, got back into the truck and drove to the Napa store on Ulmerton.
There we bought a new fan belt borrowed tools and reinstalled the new belt. He was very fast. He was so efficient we arrived at the destination with 10 minutes to spare. We quickly set up and was ready to go by 4pm. Abby gave us a power cord for the fan and the child night light. I'll add pictures as I get them from Allie. The event was to raise funds for horses, their care and preventing them being slaughtered. A very worthwhile cause. We donated our pink nautical purse, which we later received back from the raffle tickets we bought. The purse raised about $20.00 not including our $2.00 tickets The mounted police arrived and we got to spend time with Bailey and Jacob (the horses - again photos to come later. Anne the photographer bought one of our small oil lamps for her mother. Thank you Anne. The fair ended about 9pm, just before the storm. Tired from the hot weather we got home not long after 9:30pm. Allie and I both had a wonderful time talking to people, supporting a worth while cause and sharing our products and stories with the guests.
